In 2004, Mel Gibson, brought to the screen the movie, The Passion of Christ. And now,12 years later, he is in talks about making a follow up. He has said,"Of course that's a huge undertaking, and it's not The Passion 2- it's called the Resurrection." He further elaborated by saying , "That's a very big subject, and it needs to be looked at, because we don't want to just do a simple rendering of it. I mean, we can all read what happened, but in order to really experience and explore probably deeper meanings of what it's about, it's gonna take some doing."
Randall Wallace was the writer of the Passion of the Christ, he has also spoken up about the possibility of bringing the movie to light saying "I always wanted to tell this story.The Passion is the beginning, and there's a lot more story to tell."
The Passion of the Christ stars Jim Caviezel as Jesus Christ and covers the final 12 hours of Jesus' life. It was nominated for three academy awards and was a major commercial success but was widely criticised for its violent scenes and controversial content.
