Jeremy Clarkson has been left perplexed by the rejection of his private apology to Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle over a piece he wrote for The Sun in which he said he “hated” Meghan.
In his column, published in December, he said he was "dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while crowds chant, 'Shame!' and throw lumps of excrement at her".
The remarks, understandably, caused a huge backlash. However, according to Sky News, a spokesperson for the Sussexes said the couple rejected Clarkson's latest apology, published on Instagram on Monday, and “did not believe the article was a careless, isolated incident’.
His latest Instagram post states that there seems to be a trend among the well-known these days of asking for an apology and then when the apology comes, rejecting it.
