Cosmopolitan; Though it’s hard to pick a standout moment from Saturday’s historic Women’s March on Washington, many point to Ashley Judd’s fiery speech as one of their favorites. Judd’s delivery of the poem was flawless, but she gave all the credit for her words to 19-year-old Nina Mariah Donovan of Franklin, Tennessee, who wrote “Nasty Woman” late last year.
"I was seeing the physical form of everything I was saying in my poem," Donovan told The Tennessean of watching Judd perform. "If we keep fighting, we can all be equal one day. It just shows so much hope in this city and this nation.”

Judd originally attended the show where Donovan first performed the piece (video above) and later on reached out for permission to perform it at the march, which Donovan granted her.
Donovan (and subsequently Judd) is now receiving backlash for "Nasty Woman," primarily because of the line where she refers to Ivanka as “[Trump’s] favorite sex symbol/Like wet dreams infused with your own genes.” Many are calling it “sickening” and “disgusting" and though the rest of the poem rolls through Trump’s countless offensive behaviors, it’s primarily the Ivanka part people are taking issue with.
The teen “knew [the poem] was going to offend people. Everyone has their opinions but if I keep censoring myself then it’s not art. It’s no longer me,” she told the Daily Mail. Read the transcript of Ashley Judd’s version here and see her performance in full below.
