Just five days ago Minnie Dlamini announced her resignation as the co-host of the popular SABC 1 sports show, 'Soccer Zone'. The long time 'Soccer Zone' presenter stated that she would like to have the time to focus on her other business ventures. She also stated that, "I have loved my time with the SABC Sport family and will miss them dearly. It pains me to realise that I won't be seeing my Thom Thom (Thomas Mlambo) and Dr Mnandi every Monday as they have become family. I need to grow and explore various opportunities in entertainment and business."
What these other opportunities will be are still uncertain, but Dlamini fans don't have to fret, she will be back on screens in March 2017, for the Tropika Island of Treasure Seychelles challenge.
While Dlamini explores what the rest of the entertainment industry has to offer, Vaylen Kirtley will be stepping in as her replacement. 'Soccer Zone' fans can breath easy, since Kirtley knows her stuff when it comes to sport. She has been a sports presenter, producer, script writer and researcher for SABC sport for many years.
