Two years ago super star Mariah Carey called it splitsville on her relationship with billionaire James Packer to whom she was engaged. As befitting a billionaire, the engagement ring did not come cheap, and as we know, James did not ask for the ring back.
Mariah has in fact been seen wearing the massive ring on her middle finger but now it seems she really wants to put the past behind her and has sold it for the princely sum of R34m to a Los Angeles Jeweler.
It was a whirlwind romance with James that started in mid 2015 but saw them break up in October of 2016 with Mariah receiving a handsome payment of R622m as a compensation fee for, as James put it, ‘inconveniencing’ her.
Mariah has been extremely vocal when it comes to the media of late, telling of her battle with bi-polar disorder and her desire to move forward with her life and get rid of emotional and material baggage. The pop star - who has six-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with her ex-husband Nick Cannon, has undergone therapy and is on medication for the illness. As of last month 48 year old Mariah was still dating 35 year old Bryan Tanaka, whom she met when he was one of her back up dancers. Now, what would you do with a cool R32m?
