Margot Robbie is set to play the lead in the new Warner Bros film, Barbie.
The movie that first began as a development by Sony in 2014 has never found any real legs.
Actresses such as Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway were first reported to play the lead and many writers have been approached including Diablo Cody and Hilary Winston.
With many failed attempted, the rights to the film eventually returned to Mattel which is the manufacturing company of the iconic Barbie doll.
According to margotrobbieonline:
"Margot is to star in the movie and possibly be on board to produce the movie through her production banner, Lucky Chap."
The venture will happen in partnership with Marner Bros.
