Live stream four of SA’s funniest comedians this Friday night

Kurt Schoonraad, a regular visitor to the Algoa FM studios when he is in town, will host this special live lockdown performance tomorrow night with fellow comedians Stuart Taylor, Mel Jones and Rob Van Vuuren – they are hoping to bring a little laughter into the homes of all South Africans during this stressful time.

It’s all part of a V&A Waterfront initiative to keep their Cape Town Comedy Club performers working and raising money for various NPO's during the coronavirus pandemic. The four comics feature regularly at the V&A’s Waterfront Comedy Club and now they are coming together to bring a little light into our lives.

Here’s your special invitation from Kurt Schoonraad himself!

As is the new normal when it comes to watching a show, get out your smartphone, tablet, laptop or TV, and stream the Good Night Friday online concert tomorrow from 7 pm to 8.30 pm via Facebook or YouTube.

To get South African laughing  Kurt, Stuart, Mel and Rob will present a game-show, with each comedian assigning the other tasks to perform live, you are promised plenty of banter!

While the show is free, you can make a donation if you so wish  – all money raised will go to the NPO The Justice Desk. This is an award-winning NPO whose one particular area of focus right now is gender-based violence during lockdown.

Their work in this area recognises that there are gaps in our systems regarding the protection of women and children, as well as information on the necessary procedures one needs to follow when reporting a case.

If you would like to contribute to this NPO you can simply scan the QR code that will be available on the screen during the show.

Last week, the V&A’s Good Night Fridays featured MC Marc Lottering and performers Jimmy Nevis, Prime Circle’s Ross Learmonth, Wandile Mbambeni and Acoustic Element. The concert raised R43 000 from viewers which together with R50 000 from the V&A went to Ladles of Love, a non-profit volunteer soup kitchen and feeding programme for the homeless of Cape Town.
