Inter Miami CF's Argentine forward Lionel Messi took home his 8th Ballon d'Or award at the prestigious 2023 French football event held Monday night at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris .
Messi, who played for Paris Saint-Germain last season, captained Argentina to the World Cup in Qatar last December, ending a 36-year wait for the South American country.
