Rapper Lil Wayne has apologised for his anti-Black Lives Matter rant on ABC's Nightline where he said that he does not feel connected to the movement and that it had nothing to do with him.
Wayne also said during his interview that he is rich and black and if people do not understand then America does.
However, the rapper has since taken a step back and in a statement released 24 hours after his remarks he said he spoke out of annoyance at the questions the interviewer was asking about his daughter.
He further explained that he got agitated when he was asked about his daughter being labelled foul things and from there he put no thought in her questions and in his answers.
He added that apologises if remarks offended anyone.
In September Wayne was criticised when he said on Undisputed that he doesn't believe that racism exists which he later clarified saying that he believed this because his life was saved by a white policeman.
