Leon Schuster slams death hoax as he celebrates turning 73

The famous prankster and filmmaker has had a rough time of it following two challenging back surgeries within a short space of time. Despite this, the celebrated ‘hoaxer’ is very much alive and having to address a false claim on social media stating that he has passed away.

Today, the 21st of May, Schuster turns 73 and is using the opportunity to let South Africa know that he is not going anywhere, anytime soon.

Taking to Facebook to dispel the upsetting rumour he wrote: 'I hear I’m dead again. What crazy head posts stuff like this? I will kick him there where he will never be able to have children again. It’s not nice when your people call you and say “I’m so happy to hear your voice”.’

‘I’m a cheetah, a cat and this is the sixth time this has happened. Luckily, a cat has nine lives, so at least I have three left!!  Thank you for your inquiries and for your concern and love – these are TRUE friends Your love is etched on the table of my heart. Thank you, thank you and thank you dear Jesus that my life is in Your hands!!.’

Schuster is scheduled for a third back surgery to replace a loose screw in his lower spine but plans to get back in the saddle as soon as he has recovered.

We echo Asgar Mahomed's sentiments, as posted on Facebook, and wish you a blessed 73rd birthday Leon Schuster - and the best of luck for the surgery ahead.
