Legendary SA actor Candy Moloi has died

It was with heartfelt emotion that Muvhango and production company Word of Mouth released a joint statement to pay tribute to Moloi saying on social media, ” It is with great sadness that Word of Mouth Pictures and the Muvhango family have learned of the passing of a legend, Candy (Mokondeleli) Moloi."

Moloi will always be remembered for her role as the original 'vho-Makhadzi' in the hit series Muvhango, she was one of the original cast members when the SABC 2 soapie first took to air in 1997.

Moloi’s death at the age of 67 followed a lengthy battle with cancer.

She is survived by her son Tshepo Moloi, daughter Lerato Zah and two grandsons. Lerato also featured in Muvhango as Uncle Tshepo’s daughter Refilwe.

According to TishaLive Moloi will be buried in her home town of Thohoyandou in Limpopo,  under strict  Covid-19 restrictions.
