AKA ,real name Kiernan Forbes, has received a total of seven nominations for his posthumous album Mass Country for this year’s 29th annual SA Music Awards (Samas).
The slain rapper’s album will be up against the work of Gospel star Ntokozo Mbambo, KO, Sjava, and Kabza De Small.
The nominations for the most prestigious music awards were announced at The Soweto Theatre in Jabulani, Soweto on October 3.

The awards will for the first time in years move from its usual home in Sun City and be staged for two nights at the Durban ICC on November 17 and 18.
AKA was shot dead outside a restaurant in Durban on 10 February 2023 along with his close friend, the chef and entrepreneur Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane.
