The Knysna Oyster Festival was the perfect opportunity for nature conservationist Sue Swain to launch the first two books in her captivating 'discovery' series titled “Fruzz and the Fabled Planet.”
Sue is a first-time author whose engaging books are themed around biomimicry and focus on the awe, wonder and mystery of our extraordinary planetary home.
Swain describes the books as taking one on a “thrilling adventure in which we explore the magic and mystery of the Universe's legendary living planet through the eyes of a quirky microscopic space venturer.”
Weaving fact and imagination with stunning illustrations by the brilliant Julie Carlisle, Fruzz reawakens a sense of wonder and awe for our planetary home while inspiring a new understanding and valuing of the living world. What is biomicry ?
According to the Biomimicry Institute, biomimicry can be defined as “an approach to innovation that seeks sustainable solutions to human challenges by emulating nature’s time-tested patterns and strategies. The goal is to create products, processes, and policies—new ways of living—that are well-adapted to life on earth over the long haul.”
