Kevin Hart made the announcement that he will be hosting the 2019 Academy Awards on his Instagram account.
He described this achievement as the opportunity of a lifetime and thanked his family friends and fans for always supporting him.
He also praised all of the comedians who have hosted the awards before him by referring to them as "legendary".
Kevin said, "for years I have been asked if I would like to host the Oscars and my answer was always the same"
"I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it supposed to."
