Everywhere you look on social media you will find celebrities posing in their underwear, their bikinis, their barely-there work out gear – sometimes you will even find them posing with nothing on, just a limb or an accessory or two carefully placed to give an appearance of modesty. And each and every one of these pics features a celebrity looking nothing less than perfect.
And then along comes Katy Perry and her refreshingly honest postpartum Instagram selfie. She is seen standing in front of the bathroom mirror, wearing a beige nursing bra and a pair of rather large but very comfortable looking knickers! She labels her hair and makeup as being the work of “ exhaustion” and credits the makers of her ‘sensible’ underwear.
The message is clear – it takes a while to get back to a pre-pregnancy figure - that tummy can stick around for a least three months according to the experts, no new mum should feel the pressure to jump straight back into those size 8 skinnies!
