Jub Jub hosts new reality show about forgiveness

Six years ago, Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye and his friend Themba Tshabalala were convicted of culpable homicide for killing four children in 2010 while drag racing in Soweto. The incident left two other children severely injured.  In january of this year they were granted bail after having spent half of their eight year prison sentence behind bars. Maarohanye said after his release in many a TV appearance, newspaper and magazine interview, that being incarcerated had changed his personality dramatically, citing his relationship with God as keeping him going.

His personal  journey of healing and forgiveness of self are the reasons why he has been chosen to take on the role of  host of a new series called Uthando Noxolo. The producer of the show, Mpho Lengane, has said it is a series about mending broken relationships, forgiving oneself, and then going out to extend forgiveness to someone who has not asked for it.  He believes that participants in the show will be able to relate to Jub Jub because of what he has been through and because he was not afraid to ask for forgiveness publicly..

Jub Jub has been spotted filming in and around Eldorado Park, Gauteng.

Uthando Noxolo airs on 20 May at 21:00 on Moja Love DStv (Channel 157).
