The 79-year-old star of stage and screen and the 29-year-old English singer-songwriter have both had to cancel appearances this year due to a shared health issue.
The New Brighton-born John Kani was forced to step down from his lead role in the much-anticipated Johannesburg theatre production Fences in January this year after a diagnosis of extreme vertigo.
And with just hours to go until his second sold-out O2 Arena show on Tuesday, Ezra took to social media to share a statement written by his team announcing that he had been forced to cancel the gig after being given the news that he was suffering from the debilitating condition.
Hi everyone, unfortunately George has started feeling incredibly unwell this afternoon. He’s been diagnosed by a doctor as having acute vertigo and as a result we sincerely regret to announce that tonight’s show at the O2 in London will not be able to go ahead as planned.

It is unclear when he will be back in action.
According to Wikipedia ‘Vertigo is a condition in which a person has the sensation of movement or of surrounding objects moving when they are not. Often it feels like a spinning or swaying movement. This may be associated with nausea, vomiting, sweating, or difficulty walking. It is typically worse when the head is moved.’
