The much beleaguered Hollywood Foreign Press Association has released a statement promising to implement "transformational changes" after NBC announced they would not be broadcasting the 2022 Golden Globes ceremony.
The organization has been under attack of late for a lack of diversity amongst its members - it was revealed in February that none of its members are black.
Monday saw Tom Cruise handing back the three Golden Globes that he has won over the years in protest against the HFPA, and then came the news from the association’s broadcast partner NBC that they were severing ties with them.
The NFPA has now promised to make it their top priority to reform "as quickly and as thoughtfully" as possible.
Their statement read:” We invite our partners in the industry to the table to work with us on the systemic reform that is long overdue, both in our organization as well as within the industry at large.”
