Here's how Beyonc? and Jay-Z got permission to film their new music video in The Louvre

Cape Town – Singer Beyoncé and her husband, rapper Jay-Z released a joint album titled Everything is Love on Saturday. The album was released along with a new video titled Apeshit

The video was filmed in one of the most famous art galleries in the world, France’s The Louvre.

The institution is open to the public but filming a music video there isn’t as easy as walking in with your equipment and hitting the record button.

You have to have permission from the museum and pay a hefty fee. Big movies like Wonder Woman and Fifty Shades Freed have done it, on large budgets with lots of ahead planning, but how did exactly did music’s power couple on reportedly short notice with no one knowing?

They simply asked, according to The New York Times. Bey and Jay are long-time friends of the museum and pitched the idea to the museum’s director with little to no notice and were green lit. How much did it cost them? Well, the museum won’t reveal the specific rate that The Carters paid but if you or I want to film there in one of the galleries it will cost about R242 455,50.
