Gwyneth Paltrow draws inspiration from her quietly confident pre-teen daughter. The Iron Man actress shares daughter Apple, 12, and son, Moses, 10, with her ex-husband Chris Martin. While most mothers probably expect their children to follow their paths in one way or another, Gwyneth insists it's quite the opposite when it comes to her relationship with Apple. ?My daughter is super ballsy. I always follow her lead,? she told Harper?s Bazaar.
?I actually don't need to encourage her to take risks. She likes to push herself; she wants to see how far she can get. It's really inspiring to see that in a young woman.? Though Gwyneth praises Apple for being willing to navigate her own path, she can?t deny that her children?s upbringing has played a part. The blonde beauty shares that she tries to promote a healthy dynamic within their family life, despite her ?conscious uncoupling? from Coldplay frontman Chris in 2014.
?In my case, I've borne these two kids into a particularly strange circumstance. They are going to have to fend off a lot and protect themselves from a lot of projections and prejudice about who they are, coming from the family that they come from,? she explained. As well as her daughter, Gwyneth points to her long-time friend Beyonce as an example of a strong woman she finds inspiring. She describes the superstar as the ?sweetest mother? and a ?very shy? person when she?s not on stage performing.
?You would not believe she is Beyonce Knowles. You would be like, 'No, that was not her.' And that's why when I see her perform, I'm like, 'Oh, s**t, I forgot,'" she smiled. In the accompanying editorial for the November issue of Harper?s Bazaar, the 44-year-old looks stunning in range of sultry black outfits, including a Valentino cape and dress from her new goop Label, as she poses in the aisles of a supermarket.
