Gwyneth Paltrow wouldn't announce her split via her lifestyle website if she and Chris Martin ended their marriage today. The movie star's "conscious uncoupling" statement became a punchline when she confirmed her 10-year union with the Coldplay singer was over in 2014, and now, over two years later, she admits that although she still has no problem with what she said, she wouldn't announce the break-up via Goop.com.In a new Influencer Interview on LinkedIn, the 43-year-old Goop founder admits she would handle the situation very differently."At that time, Goop wasn't the size that it is now, there were a lot less people," she explains. "It was a very, very personal project for a long time and I wrote in the first person all the time, so it wasn't like a break."
Now if you read the content, it is not in the first person anymore. At the time, it was still very small and very personal. It was such a difficult time in my life and I was trying so hard to protect my children and my family, Chris included. We were both fragile. It was really tough. To me it felt like this is a quiet way to do this and it is contained."But she insists announcing the separation via Goop wouldn't be "appropriate" in 2016, adding, "It is a much bigger business and I'm not sure it would be the right place to do something like that. I'm not sure."The actress has often come under fire for things she writes on Goop, but she insists most of the negative feedback is unresearched nonsense she ignores."When something is criticism that is not well researched, it doesn't mean anything to me," she says. "Criticism that is well researched, I listen to and I like... When you have an e-commerce business, no press is bad press. Everything drives people to the site, so it's OK."
