GoT prequel casts Naomi Watts

The Game of Thrones prequel has cast its first actor, Naomi Watts.

The prequel which has yet to be named will begin filming in early 2019 with writers Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Secret Service, X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass) and GoT creator George R.R. Martin working on the project.

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have elected not to be involved in the prequel.
