Google introduces Audio Emojis

Google Phone has introduced a new sound effect feature to add some fun to interactions on mobile devices.

It's currently in beta testing so not available to everyone as yet but when it is, it will allow users to play various sound effects.

According to Google, Android users will soon have the option to play six different sounds during phone calls: sad, applause, celebration, laugh, drumroll, and even a poop sound effect!

Google describes the feature like this: "Express emotions and moods with sounds like applause, laughter, sad trombone, and more with tappable emoji while you're on a call."

Fortunately, there is a time limit so that you can't play the sounds back-to-back.

There's also a button to disable the feature entirely if it bothers you.  Hopefully, there is also one to block being on the receiving end of annoying noises.

According to Sky News the Audio Emojis are getting a mixed reaction.
