Game of Thrones has two more seasons left with 13 episodes combines, but HBO has announced that they are planning a prequel series.
HBO's networking president Casey Bloys confirms that they are still talking to author George R.R. Martin about ideas for a follow-up to the international Emmy-winning hit series.
Bloys added that they are still in "preliminary ongoing talks" with the author.
In earlier interviews Martin said he'd written a thousand pages of fictional history for everything leading up to the what viewers have been watching, meaning there is a lot material and ideas to work with.
Game of Thrones season 7 will return next in June.
