The official Game of Thrones Twitter account announced that the prequel to the popular series, Game of Thrones will be aired on HBO.
The Tweet reads as follows:
"#HouseOfDragon, a #GameofThrones prequel is coming to HBO. The Series is co-created by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal. Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as showrunner and will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Condal will be writing the series."

In Los Angeles today, the president of HBO programming, Casey Bloys made the announcement. He stated that it is his pleasure to "announce... that we are ordering House of Dragon straight to series for HBO."
The prequel, House of Dragon will be set 300 years before events in the original series.
