Global Citizen: One World #TogetherAtHome
Lady Gaga has helped raised $35 million to help assist the World Health Organisation COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
On Twitter the singer announced her collaboration with the Global Citizen’s movement who began the #TogetherAtHome campaign.
The funds raised for the Solidarity Response fund "allows WHO to continue to track and understand the spread of the virus, to ensure patients get the care they need and the frontline workers get essential supplies and information, and helps accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments" says Gaga.
Within 7 days, Gaga in collaboration with Global Citizen motivated the world’s largest companies to join her Corporate Kindness list and donate funds for WHO. Within just 7 days, $35 million was raised.
In addition to the fund raising Gaga has also helped Global Citizens curate a star-studded group of performers for the One World: #TogetherAtHome broadcast event that will happen on the 18th of April.
The event is not to raise funds as stated by Gaga, since all the funds were already raised. All fans have to do is connect and enjoy the concert.
"We want to celebrate and highlight the singular kind global community and celebrate the power of the human spirit," said Gaga.
