The official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) has confirmed North Korea’s first official COVID cases as leader Kim Jong Un orders a strict lockdown to contain the virus.
According to Sky News “ test samples from Sunday from an unspecified number of people with fevers in the capital, Pyongyang, confirmed they were infected with the Omicron variant.”
For roughly two years, North Korea closed its border to nearly all trade and visitors in an effort to keep the virus out.
