The latest instalment in the dinosaur franchise, which will see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard retrieve their roles as Owen and Claire respectively, has been hit by an outbreak of coronavirus. Filming has subsequently been put on hold for two weeks.
Director Colin Trevorrow confirmed the news on Twitter alongside a picture of a small dinosaur wearing a mask, saying: "A few positive coronavirus tests on Jurassic World: Dominion.”
Woke up to the news we had a few positive Coronavirus tests on Jurassic World: Dominion. All tested negative shortly after, but due to our safety protocols we’re going to pause for two weeks. Back soon. pic.twitter.com/DxuqX9UdgX

In another post of the official movie poster he wrote: "For the past three months, I’ve worked with an extraordinary cast and crew on a film we can’t wait to share with the world.”
“Even though we'll have to wait a bit longer, it will all be worth it. Let’s stay healthy and take care of each other until then."
Trevorrow did not say who had tested positive.
Just a few days prior to this news Universal had announced that they were moving their release date from June 2021 to June 2022.
The film stopped shooting in mid-March due to the pandemic before resuming in England in July under strict protocols to contain the spread of the virus.
Major movie studios have been frantically reshuffling dates and postponing film releases as the industry battles to recover from the worldwide shutdown of cinemas in March.
