Fergusons Films, the production company owned by Connie and Shona Ferguson, hit back at allegations pf exploitation made earlier in the week by actress Vatiswa Ndara.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the company said the allegations were misguided, misleading and sought to tarnish its reputation.
In a six-page open letter addressed to the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa, Vatiswa Ndara had asked the minister to intervene on behalf of the unfair treatment meted out to actors in South Africa.
In response, the Fergusons posted a statement on Twitter, rubbishing the claims and disputing the accusations of poor remuneration and unfair treatment.
Connie and Shona Ferguson also said, “As actors ourselves and producers we are aware of the challenges facing the entertainment industry. We support 100% a need for the industry to be regulated and for the Performance Protection Amendment Bill to be signed sooner rather than later”.
