JOHANNESBURG, October 4 (ANA) – As part of Cancer Awareness month, African Fashion Apparel Brand, Magents will be honouring the legacy of the late Kwaito star Mandoza, who lost his battle to brain cancer in 2016.
The event marks the launch of the inspired new Summer 2018 collection from Magents, and the proceeds of the ticket sales will be donated to the Mandoza Foundation.
Mandoza’s death follows a lengthy battle with cancer after he was diagnosed with a brain tumor in May last year.
The showcase, which takes place on Thursday, will be hosted by radio personality Unathi Msengana and musician and presenter Stoan Seate, with a must-see live performance by award winning South African Hip Hop artist Kwesta and a few other surprise acts.
The Mandoza Foundation, founded by Mandoza’s widow, Mpho Tshabalala, assists less fortunate cancer survivors and raises awareness about early detection.
The foundation also honours the legacy of Mandoza, whose own untimely silencing by the disease still remains one of the greatest losses to South African music.
