Duke and Duchess of Sussex announce details of SA tour


Prince Harry and his wife have announced on their Instagram account some of the interesting items on their itinerary during their upcoming tour to South Africa. They on the 23rd of September and depart on the 2nd of October.

According to the couple, the tour will focus on “ community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV/AIDS and the environment.”

They will be meeting with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and will also join the  ‘Waves for Change’ movement on Monwabisi Beach during their visit. This is a charity that focuses on mental health, something about which Prince Harry is passionate.

The Duke will also be delivering an exciting new initiative, a Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy three-country partnership which he designed and consulted with Governments in Namibia, Botswana and Angola to protect forest and wildlife corridors around the Okavango Delta.

The Duchess will be working with local organisations to promote women and girls’ health and education, entrepreneurship and leadership.

There will be visits to townships and of course the District Six Museum, the Duke and Duchess will also get to see the work of The Lunchbox Fund, one of four charities that benefitted from the generous donations made by the public on the birth of their son Archie Mountbatten Windsor.

 Their final engagement will be with  President Cyril Ramaphosa and his wife Dr Tshepo Motsepe, after which they will depart for London.
