Drake leads BET Hip Hop Awards nominations

















Drake has scored 14 nominations for the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards, putting him in the lead for the third consecutive year.The One Dance singer has been nominated multiple times for the 2016 ceremony, hosted by Black Entertainment Television (BET) executives, in categories including: 
- Album of the Year for Views,
- Best Hip-Hop Video for Hotline Bling,
- Best Live Performer and Lyricist of the Year.

Drake also appears three times in the Best Collabo, Duo or Group shortlist thanks to his team-ups with Future (Jumpman), Wizkid and Kyla (One Dance) and DJ Khaled on For Free, and goes against himself once more for Track of the Year with songs Hotline Bling and Controlla.

Other Album of the Year nominees include DJ Khaled for I Changed A Lot, Dr. Dre for Compton, Fetty Wap's self-titled debut album, Future's DS2 and The Life of Pablo by Kanye West, while remaining Track of the Year nominees include Panda by Desiigner, All the Way Up by Fat Joe and Remy Ma featuring French Montana and Infared, and I Got the Keys by DJ Khaled featuring Jay Z and Future. At the 2015 ceremony, Drake led the nominations once again with 12 and came away with four awards, including MVP of the Year and Hustler of the Year, which he is recognised for again this year.

DJ Khaled, Future, and Kanye West are also nominated in both categories, while Jay Z completes the Hustler set and Kendrick Lamar finishes off the MVP shortlist. The Best New Hip-Hop Artist prize will be a fight between Anderson. Paak, Bryson Tiller, Chance the Rapper, Desiigner and Tory Lanez, according to Billboard.com.The awards are set to be taped on 17 September at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia and will be televised in the U.S. on 4 October.
