Dr. Dre is the highest paid music celebrity in the latest Forbes rich list with a fortune of $110 million (£69.5 million).
The producer and rapper earned more than pop mogul Simon Cowell ($90 milllion) and Elton John ($80 million) in Forbes 20 Highest Paid Celebrities list. Britney Spears wasn't far behind with $58 million (£36.6 million) while US TV presenter topped the poll with a massive fortune of $160 million (£101 million).
Dre is still to complete work on his long awaited 'Detox' album but the rap mogul recently signed up to develop and be an executive producer on a new crime drama series for American television network FX.
The rap mogul will oversee the production of the series, which will be written by Sidney Quashie and focus on both the music industry and the criminal underworld of Los Angeles.
Quashie will executive produce alongside Dre, with Daniel Schnider from the producer's company Crucial TV and Brad Bertner also signed up to executive produce. A one-hour pilot has initially been commissioned.
It is unclear whether he will complete sessions for the follow-up to his 1999 album '2001' after he recently said he was "taking a break from music".
Two singles have been released so far: 'Kush' in November 2010 and 'I Need A Doctor', which featured Eminem and Skylar Grey, in February 2011. There is no confirmed tracklisting or release date as yet.
