For those seeking adventure, the region boasts thrilling experiences such as sky-diving and zip-lining across stunning landscapes. If you'd prefer a slower pace, you can go on a canal cruise in St Francis Bay, visit local markets for unique handmade goods, enjoy a game drive, or join a honey and gin-tasting session at Pabalo Lodge Game Farm in the Loerie district.
One of the standout ways to explore the Eastern Cape is on horseback. In Jeffreys Bay, visitors can journey across diverse terrain, from rocky paths and lush bushes to small mountains, ultimately leading to the serene beach at Pappiesfontein.

The Port of East London will welcome 14 luxury passenger ships during the 2024-2025 season, bringing over 10 000 international visitors eager to explore the region. With ships like the Azamara Quest and Silver Spirit making regular stops, the port will see increased activity, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the province.
As part of the Summer Love campaign, the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA) has emphasized the importance of safety for tourists and locals. CEO Vuyani Damani reassured the public that safety remains a top priority for the region. "We’ve worked closely with local stakeholders and security forces to ensure a secure environment for everyone this season," he said, pointing out the recent success of large, incident-free events in the province.
On the roads, 127 newly trained traffic officers will be deployed across the province to ensure road safety during the busy holiday period. Transport Spokesperson, Unathi Bhinqose said the officers have undergone 12 months of training in traffic law, physical, and psychological preparation, ready to support a smooth and safe festive season.
Meanwhile, Economic Development, Environmental Affairs, and Tourism MEC, Nonkqubela Pieters, encouraged locals to support the tourism sector. “Domestic travel plays an essential role in the province’s growth, and we all have a part to play in creating a welcoming environment for visitors, helping to foster sustainable tourism,” Pieters stated.
