Dionne Warwick on Hal David's death: 'I feel as if I have lost another family member'

Dionne Warwick has spoken out over the death of lyricist Hal David.
David passed away on Saturday (September 1) following complications from a stroke at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
David was Burt Bacharach's songwriting partner and wrote the lyrics for such classic tracks as 'Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head', 'I'll Never Fall in Love Again', 'What the World Needs Now Is Love', 'I Say a Little Prayer' and '(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me'. Warwick famously sang the duo's songs 'Do You Know the Way to San Jose' and 'Walk On By'.
Warwick, whose cousin Whitney Houston died earlier this year said: "I feel as if I have lost another family member, but knowing I will always have him with me each time I sing the lyrics written for me by him will continue to bring me a sense of him being with me always."
Singer Smokey Robinson also paid tribute to David, saying: "I hope that the music world will join together in celebrating the life of one of our greatest composers ever. I will really miss my friend but I will celebrate his life and he will live on and on through his incredible musical contribution."
