Singer Diana Ross said she felt "violated" after being searched in between her legs by an agent with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at the New Orleans airport.
Ross, a Motown superstar, was in New Orleans over the weekend for the Jazz and Heritage Festival. In a series of Twitter messages, she wrote of the incident. She said the search was "over the top!! Makes me want to cry!!!"
Ross said she was "feeling violated" and went on, "I still feel her hands between my legs, front and back."
TSA spokesman Mark Howell told the Associated Press in a statement that the incident is being investigated by the agency. An initial video review, he said, shows that "all protocols were followed," according to AP. Howell also said that the TSA is "committed to treating all travellers with respect and courtesy, the AP said.
Later, Ross wrote on Twitter that she was feeling better.
