Dame Helen Mirren and Kylie Minogue honoured by Mattel ahead of International Women's Day

The two iconic celebrities are among eight women honoured by Mattel with their own Barbie likenesses ahead of International Women's Day and Barbie's 65th anniversary on March 9.

Seventy-eight-year-old actress Dame Helen Mirren, and fifty-five-year-old pop icon Kylie Minogue are part of a global lineup of role models who have had one-of-a-kind role model dolls made in their likeness.

The other recipients chosen by Mattel for the honor of seeing themselves recreated as a Barbie doll were actress Viola Davis, singer and songwriter Shania Twain,  Brazilian social media star Maira Gomez, Mexican film producer Lila Aviles, Japanese model and TV personality Nicole Fujita, and German comedian Enissa Amani.

Krista Berger, Senior Vice President of Barbie and Global Head of Dolls said in a statement to mark the occasion, “Barbie’s story has never been just about her. This International Women's Day, 8 March 2024, join the United Nations in celebrating under the theme Invest in women: Accelerate progress. The world is facing many crises, ranging from geopolitical conflicts to soaring poverty levels and the escalating impacts of climate change.
