COVID-19 delays release of Wonder Woman 1984

Fans of Wonder Woman patiently awaited the release of Wonder Woman 1894, which was set to hit theatre screens on the 15th of June 2020.

The sequel of the 2017 Wonder Woman movie which saw the DC character star in her first film, has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Variety reports that, "Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel to the 2017 Wonder Woman film, was set to hit theatres on June 5th but will now open on August 14th. In a statement, Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich said: “When we green-lit Wonder Woman 1984, it was with every intention to be viewed on the big screen, and are excited to announce that Warner Bros. Pictures will be bringing the film to theatres on August 14th. We hope the world will be in a safer and healthier place by then.”

Gal Gadot posted the following announcement on her Twitter feed letting fans know about the the postponement of her film:

"In these dark and scary times, I am looking forward to a brighter future ahead. Where we can share the power of cinema together again. Excited to redate our WW84 film to August 14, 2020. I hope everyone is safe. Sending my love to you all"
