British actor Tom Hiddleston got a little help from his famous friends as he accepted an award via videolink on Monday night (05Sep16) at the TV Choice Awards in London, England.Hiddleston is currently in Australia filming Thor: Ragnarok, and in a hilarious pre-recorded video, co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba gatecrashed his sober acceptance speech.
The 35-year-old was accepting the Best Actor award for his role as spy Jonathan Pine in BBC series The Night Manager and as he thanked TV Choice for the honour, his Australian co-star wandered into the frame and grabbed the star trophy out of Tom's hand. Hemsworth, who previously starred in Australian soap Home and Away, then started an acceptance speech of his own."Oh, this is for us hey? That's for Home and Away yeah?...all the work I did on (it)... Thanks everyone at Channel 7, I loved working on Home and Away," Chris joked.Soon after, the pair were joined by British actor Idris Elba who wandered into shot to ask "what's going on? what's that?" before grabbing the star-topped trophy from Chris to examine it.
"Oh man, that's really awful isn't it?' the star, who plays DCI John Luther in television series Luther, joked about the silver gong before turning to camera to ask: "How come Luther didn't get nominated?"The superhero trio hammed it up in the video, showing that their rapport is not just limited to their time onscreen. As Tom wrapped up his acceptance speech, thanking all those involved in the making of the critically acclaimed show, Chris shouted as he walked out of shot, "Home and Away rocks... and so does The Night Manager!".
