Celine Dion has been ordered to cancel all live shows for the next three months - because of a virus.
The 'My Heart Will Go On' singer was ordered to rest her voice for at least six to eight weeks by her Los Angeles doctor after contracting a virus which has left her weak and inflamed vocal chords. She said: "I tried to sing at my sound check last week, and I had no control of my voice whatsoever. We thought that after a few days' rest I would improve, but it wasn't getting any better."
Celine, 43, is currently a resident performer at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, but according to her website has now cancelled all shows until 9 June. All tickets for the cancelled performances will be refunded to fans.
She began her planned three-year run as a resident at the casino in March last year after fellow vocalist Cher threw in the towel after her 192 performances.
Prior to signing up for the shows she took time off to spend with her family, having given birth to twins in 2010.
