US Senators were meeting on Wednesday to certify the outcome of the Presidential election, but, what the President-elect referred to as a “sacred ritual” came to an abrupt halt as Trump supporters broke windows and tried to storm the Senate Chamber. Four people have since been declared dead.
Chaotic scenes were beamed live across international news networks, soon after celebrities wasted no time in taking to Twitter to express their disbelief and utter shock.
Sarah Jessica -Parker said: “ Unimaginable. Disgraceful. Shocking. But no surprise. So many to hold responsible. You know who you are. You dismissed the violent, divisive, cruel rhetoric. You made excuses. Cowards He/you are not leaders. We will try to re-build. You will try to live with yourselves.”
She followed it up with a tweet that said, in reference to Trump, “An appearance any minute, I'm assuming of an outraged "law and order" President, in the haze of pepper spray assuming portrait pose with a bible”.
Acclaimed filmmaker Ava Du Vernay said," The language of white supremacy is a language of cowardice disguised as dominance."

Chris Evans stated simply that he was “Speechless”.
US president-elect Joe Biden said “our democracy is under unprecedented attack” appealing to President Donald Trump to go on national television and fulfil his obligation to call for an end to the chaos.
In a delayed address to the nation, Biden said the chaotic scenes in the Capitol do not reflect “the true America, do not represent who we are.” He did not mince his words when he called the actions of the Trump supporters sedition and an insurrection, urging “this mob to pull back and let democracy go forward.”
President Trump, after earlier addressing a rally of his supporters, later posted a video in which he once again claimed that the election “had been stolen” but urged his supporters to go home.
