Carte Blanche and Derek Watts celebrate 31 years of investigative journalism.

This month marks 31 years since that familiar Carte Blanche theme music blared into living rooms across South Africa. Congratulations are in order for the team behind the show and Derek Watts, the only presenter to have stayed the distance.

It's hard to believe that it was back in 1988 when Bill Faure, a film writer and director, came up with the idea of Carte Blanche. The anchors at the time were Afrikaans newsreader and sports reporter Derek Watts.

And here we are, the 5^th September 2019, saying congratulations, and wishing the team all the best for the future.
