International movie houses, Hartiwood films and Deepened Films, have bought the rights from Pan Macmillan South Africa to the book Behind the Door. The book was written by local SA Journalists Mandy Weiner and Barry Bateman.
Paulene Abrey, the executive producer at Deepend Films has divulged to EWN that there has been a great deal of interest around the documentary at the Cannes Film Festival which is currently underway.
At the beginning of May this year it was widely reported that pre-production for the documentary based on the killing of Reeva Steenkamp by paralympian Oscar Pistorious had begun. The documentary has been titled Beyond Reasonable Fact.
Meanwhile it is strongly rumoured that a South Africa documentary is in the pipeline for an in depth look at events leading up to that fateful day of February the 14th 2013 from the perspective of Reeva Steenkamp.
Oscar Pistorious is currently serving a six-year sentence for murder but this Friday prosecutors are to argue that he should be jailed for longer.
