The popular video-sharing platform is coming under fire once again following the shocking case of 12-year-old Archie Battersbee who was declared brain dead after collapsing at home with a ligature around his neck on April 7.
Britain's Hollie Dance, Archie’s mother, believes her son may have been trying the TikTok ‘blackout’ challenge shortly before he was found unconscious.
The challenge encourages users to choke themselves until they reach the point of losing consciousness.
Archie was found by his mother with a cord tied around his neck and despite all medical attempts to save him, Archie has been declared brain dead and is to be taken off life support.
His parents have submitted an application to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in a bid to postpone the withdrawal of his life support.
Archie’s case is but one of many, read the full story as shared by Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail has reported via its Twitter feed that doctors are delaying switching off Archie's life support.
