Britney Spears calls out documentary filmmakers

Briteney Spears

In a lengthy diatribe on social media, Spears has lambasted documentary filmmakers for highlighting the most traumatizing parts of her life.

Accompanied by a short clip of herself dancing provocatively in a skimpy outfit, the star launched a bitter verbal attack on the makers of the documentaries saying,” So many documentaries about me this year with other people's takes on my life ... what can I say … I’m deeply flattered !!!! These documentaries are so hypocritical … they criticize the media and then do the same thing. Damn … I don’t know y’all but I’m thrilled to remind you all that although I've had some pretty tough times in my life ... I've had waaaayyyy more amazing times in my life and unfortunately my friends … I think the world is more interested in the negative. I mean … isn't this supposed to be a business and society about THE FUTURE ? Why highlight the most negative and traumatizing times in my life from forever ago. I mean DAMN … on a lighter note … this is a video of me dancing !!! I have so many trips I'm looking forward to taking this summer and I can't wait to dance in different studios.

The post ends with her saying that she knows she’s ‘weird’ and that despite certain journalists saying that she enjoyed having them follow her around taking pictures, she did not, “PSSSSS no paparazzi guy … I didn’t want you and your crew following me around !!!!"

Britney has been under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears, since her infamous public breakdown more than 12 years ago, which resulted in her being hospitalized and sent to rehab. Despite numerous comebacks, Britney's loyal fans have expressed their concern at seeing the pop star continue to be under a conservatorship at the age of 39.

There is currently an ongoing battle by Britney’s lawyers in an effort to relinquish some of her father’s control over her affairs. A judge has now agreed to Spears personally addressing the Los Angeles court dealing with her long-running conservatorship.

In the past 13 years, Britney has rarely made a court appearance or publicly commented about the controversial legal arrangement. Her lawyer Samual Ingham told a court, “My client (Britney Spears) has requested a hearing at which she can address the court directly My client has asked that it be done on an expedited basis.”

The judge has set a June 23 hearing for Spears to speak to the court. It is not known what she is planning on addressing, she made it known last year through her representatives that she no longer wants her father involved in her affairs.

Britney has not performed in public since October 2018 but she is a frequent Instagrammer, often posting videos of herself dancing and singing at her Los Angeles home.
