Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio to co-star in Tarantino movie

Quentin Tarantino is getting ready to shoot an epic tale of 1960’s Hollywood according to his presentation at Sony Pictures’ CinemaCon last night. Tarantino has apparently been working on the script for the past five years under the title Once upon a Time in Hollywood. Brad Pitt did not make an appearance but Leonardo DiCaprio joined Tarantino on stage to talk about the project.

Leading his cast - Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, whom Tarantino said on Monday night will be “the most exciting dynamic star duo since Paul Newman and Robert Redford.”

The story unfolds in 1969 in Los Angeles when Hollywood is at the height of the hippie movement. DiCaprio’s role is that of Rick Dalton, the former star of a Western TV series, while Brad Pitt will play the role of his stunt double, Cliff Booth.

Tarantino told his audience that these two characters are struggling to make it in Hollywood, that their neighbour is the famous Sharon Tate and that the Manson family murders will feature in the movie. Not much more was revealed about the script, but he did go on to say that he was ‘very excited to tell the story of an L.A. and a Hollywood that no longer exists.  Margot Robbie is said to be in talks to star as Sharon Tate.
