Facebook: Bottomless Coffee Band: Wilderness Single
The Cape Town Band Bottomless Coffee made up of husband and wife duo Lourens and Esté Rabé have announced that their latest single "Wilderness" will help raise funds for the Community Conservation Fund Africa.
Fans of the band and music lovers in general can get involved by simply streaming the single, "Wilderness". Each stream gets you involved in the initiative and helps raise funds for the CCFA who will use it to uplift communities and conserve wildlife.
"In this chaotic time of a worldwide pandemic, we are even more aware of the synergy between this planet and its humans; that we have to look after our environment for our environment to look after us," says Lourens and Esté Rabé.
Bottomless Coffee Band first partnered with the CCFA after Adrian Gardiner, the Chairman of the CCFA attended one of the band's concerts performed in the Eastern Cape last year.
Gardiner approached the band and asked, "What are you as musicians doing for conservation?" Following the question, Gardiner read a poem about a mother Rhino being separated from her calve due to a poaching event. It left an impression on the band and inspired them to write the the song "Wilderness".
The band will donate a percentage of the streaming money earned to the CCFA, while Fairview will donate R1 for every share of the video.
"I think music is the best global means of communication, and if anything needs to be communicated right now on a world stage, it is conservation,” says Fairview owner, Charles Back.
"The two collaborate in such a meaningful way that it has the ability to cross boundaries and cultures and influence people across the world."
