Bobby Brown tribute to Bobbi Kristina after civil trial verdict

Bobby Brown is pleased he got justice for his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown after Nick Gordon was found "legally responsible" for her death.Gordon was sued by Brown's court-appointed co-conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, following the 22-year-old's death in July, 2015. Bobbi's father, Bobby Brown, also joined the lawsuit as a plaintiff in May (16). In the legal papers, her boyfriend Gordon was accused of giving Whitney Houston's only child a "toxic cocktail" of substances which rendered her unconscious on the night of 31 January, 2015, when the aspiring singer and actress was found unresponsive and face down in a bathtub at the Georgia home she shared with Gordon. She was subsequently placed in a medically-induced coma and spent almost six months fighting for her life.

Gordon missed two court dates during the legal battle and on Friday (16Sep16), Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford ruled the allegations made by the plaintiffs against Gordon have been "admitted through omission". In an Instagram post later on Friday, 47-year-old Brown reacted to the verdict, claiming he had "got" Nick Gordon. Captioning a snap of artwork featuring Bobby with his daughter, he wrote, "#IGOTEM #Babygirl #daddyalwaysgotyourback #justiceforbobbikristina." Brown said in a statement after the verdict on Friday he now needed to "process his emotions" after Nick was found civilly liable for Bobbi's death. "I am pleased with the outcome of today's court proceedings. All I ever wanted was answers relating to who and what caused my daughter's death. Today's judgment tells me it was Nick Gordon," he said. "Now I need to process all the emotions I have and lean on God to get me and my family through this." The judge will now determine how much the tragic 22-year-old's estate will be awarded.

Executors reportedly asked for $50 million (?38.3 million). Randy Kessler, Gordon's former family lawyer, told People.com the verdict given in Nick's absence does not necessarily mean he did anything wrong. "As I understand it - and I am not representing (Gordon) - he did not have a lawyer for this civil case and because he failed to respond or to appear, the court simply granted Plaintiff's requests to assess liability," Kessler said. "To me, that does not establish that he did anything wrong... It is not a decision on the merits." Despite being now deemed civilly liable for his girlfriend's death, Gordon has never been criminally charged and has denied the allegations made by Bobbi Kristina's estate.
