Looking stunning in an old Hollywood-inspired Oscar de la Renta gown, the 19-year-old teenager agreed to wear the luxury label to this year’s biggest night in fashion only if the brand would commit to stop selling fur. The young singer is a proud vegan and well known for using her social media platforms and celebrity clout to spread the word about animal cruelty and animal rights.
On her Instagram page, she said it was “an honor to wear this dress knowing that going forward Oscar de la Renta will be completely fur-free. I am beyond thrilled that @fernandogarciam1205 and @tokibunbun and the entire team heard me on this issue, and have now made a change that makes an impact for the greater good, not only for animals but also for our planet and environment too”.
She urged all other designers to follow suit.
