This year, Beyoncé became the first artist to be nominated in four different genre categories in rock, pop, rap and urban contemporary - she picked up nine Grammy nominations in total.
However, the Grammy Country Committee rejected the singer’s submission of “Daddy Lessons” from her latest album Lemonade.
The song received backlash after she performed it with the Dixie Chicks at this year’s Country Music Awards. Having people question why she was there on “country music’s biggest night” and if she qualifies to be in the genre.
If the song was selected, it would have been nominated for best country song and country solo performance.
Beyoncé has since released a studio version of “Daddy Lessons” featuring the Dixie Chicks.
